Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce the arrival of experienced centre-back Joe Worrall on a four-year deal from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee - subject to standard EFL / FA / PL approval.
The 27-year-old defender, who has over 200 appearances across the Premier League and Championship with Forest, also has experience in the SPL with Rangers and at Besiktas in Turkish Super Lig.
Upon signing for the Clarets, Worrall said: “I’m very happy to be a Burnley player! I can’t wait to be involved and help get them back to the Premier League!”
“It felt like home as soon as I walked through the door and that’s what I want it to be. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the people in and around the club but also the fans! I want to strike up a bit of a rapport with them!”
“I’m just looking forward to playing, and winning, games. That’s the main ambition for me. Getting everybody on board with what we’re trying to do at the club and enjoy it as well!”

Nottingham-born Worrall joined Forest’s academy in 2011 and after rising through the academy system the defender was given his first taste of men’s football with a loan spell at League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge in January 2016.
After returning to the City Ground ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, the towering centre-back made his first team debut in October 2016 against Reading in the Championship.
Worrall went on to play over 50 games across the next two seasons for Forest, before a season-long loan spell at Rangers to gain further experience in the 2018/19 campaign.
The defender featured in every league fixture upon return to Nottingham the following year and captained Forest as they won promotion to the Premier League in the 2021/22 season via the play-offs.
Worrall played over 30 games in Forest’s return to the top-flight, before a loan move to Turkish side Besiktas in February this year for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
