19/01/2013 - Millwall 0 - 2 Burnley (The Den)
Goals from Sam Vokes and Danny Ings saw Burnley secure a third consecutive win in the Championship, as the Clarets moved up to eighth in the league table following a 2-0 win in London.
After a dominant start at the Den, the visitors opened the scoring through Vokes' third goal of the season, before Ings doubled Burnley's lead just before the hour mark to ensure the three points returned to Lancashire.
The Clarets started brightly in the capital and had an early effort through Ross Wallace, after the Scottish winger latched onto Vokes' cross and fired at David Forde in the Millwall goal.
Burnley forced another couple of chances shortly before grabbing the opener, as Junior Stanislas saw his strike denied by Forde, before Ings rifled an effort just wide of the goal.
However, the persistence paid off when the deadlock was broken in the 19th minute, as Stanislas pounced onto a loose pass from James Henry and fired a low cross into the area for Vokes to turn home past Forde to give the away side the lead.
Millwall looked to respond to going a goal down, but their only effort on target came 10 minutes before half-time, as Liam Trotter's shot was gathered by the hands of Lee Grant.
The hosts came out on the front foot in the second-half and came close to an equaliser when Henry teed up striker Andy Keogh, but the Irishman could only fire over the target from close range.
The Lions were pushing for a leveller, as Burnley were looking to add a second of the afternoon. Next up was Ings, as the striker saw his low drilled effort saved, before Stanislas struck the ball narrowly wide of the post.
Despite a spell of pressure from the home side to pull the scores level, it was the Clarets who doubled their lead just before the hour mark, as the lively Ings nipped in front of Mark Beevers to glance home Kieran Trippier's teasing ball.
Millwall looked for a way back into it, but Trippier was there to block Trotter's effort on the line, as the Burnley defence stood strong to keep the home side at bay and seal a clean sheet.
