ai.io & Burnley FC - Working to bring football players the opportunity of a lifetime

We are delighted to announce that the Clarets’ Academy International Cup will once again be taking place, with ai.io as official Presenting Partner.

Sixteen of the world’s best academy teams are set to take part in the 2023 competition, with teams this year including Burnley, Chelsea, Lech Poznan (Poland), Manchester City, Malmo FF (Sweden), CD National Madeira and Sporting Lisbon (both Portugal).

ai.io will once again play a huge part in supporting the growth of Burnley Football Club’s academy system with their technology products, aiScout and aiLabs, and their partnership. The artificial intelligence-based company, who also support Burnley FC’s Academy with their performance analysis and scouting set-up, will have a large presence over the weekend including having one of their ai labs on site.

As part of the ai.io partnership with the tournament, both Burnley FC and ai.io are offering children born in 2010 the chance to be scouted, to take part in a trial game, with the possibility of selected players having the opportunity to be part of the Burnley FC squad for the cup. To be eligible to take part, children must be born in 2010 and live within 90 minutes of Burnley.

‘This is Your Time’ is a competition that will be run on the aiScout player app and will be running in collaboration with Burnley FC to give young footballers a unique opportunity to play in this international competition.

To enter the competition, parents need to download the aiScout app from the apple App Store or Google Play and have their child enter the “This is Your Time” trial on the Burnley FC page in the app by 7pm on 5th May. Before entering the Burnley FC drills, players will have to complete the NRS drills which look at physical attributes.

Twenty-five players will be given to opportunity to play in a talent ID game against Burnley FC team, in front of the Burnley coaches and scouts on Friday 19th May. The best players from this match have a chance of being selected to play for the Burnley FC academy squad that's taking part in the Clarets Academy International Cup presented by AiScout on 2nd, 3rd and 4th June.*
