Welcome to Turf Moor for this evening’s match against Everton. It’s my pleasure to welcome Frank Lampard, the players, staff, directors, and supporters joining us tonight.
I think everyone is aware just how important tonight’s game is for the Club and I wanted to start by thanking you, the supporters, for the backing that you have given the team home and away this season. It genuinely has been fantastic to see – and hear – and now it is more important than ever as we look ahead to what is a crucial day, week and final run of 10 games.
The fans are the lifeblood of this Club, so we were also delighted that so many of you took advantage of the early-bird season ticket offer to renew for the 2022/23 campaign while prices were frozen last week. Thank you for your continued support. Season tickets will go on general sale over the summer, so there’s still plenty of time for those of you that missed the deadline to secure your seat for next season.
While tonight’s game is important, Sunday’s game isn’t any less important and while Sean, the team and our away support will all be heading south to face Norwich City, our indoor Papa John’s FanZone at Turf Moor will be open for supporters to watch the game live on Sky Sports. Doors open at noon, with kick-off against the Canaries scheduled for 2pm. Tickets are priced at £5, and each ticket holder will be able to redeem a voucher to purchase a slice of Papa John’s pizza and a drink of your choice.
While the focus of the day will be on what is happening at Carrow Road, there will also be plenty for the kids including inflatables, games and skills-based football training. We do hope you can join us!
Away from the action on the pitch, we’ve continued to gather feedback from fans through Clarets View to use your opinions to shape decisions and implement new ideas here at the Club. Our last survey focussed on content that we’re putting out on our digital channels and I can assure you we’re taking the responses on board as we work hard behind the scenes to create and deliver engaging content all the Clarets family can enjoy.
An open dialogue with fans continues to be an important part of this Club’s relationship with its support and we will continue to use Clarets View on a range of Club topics so please do sign up if you haven’t already to have your say.
I also want to congratulate Burnley FC Women, who dominated in a 7-0 win over Hull City last weekend. The team are here with us this evening and will be interviewed at half-time on their recent Lancashire FA Women’s Challenge Cup win. Congratulations to the squad for this positive run of results and keep up the good work.
Finally, I want to wish Sean and the team the very best of luck this evening and I hope for a good game and a positive result the fans deserve. Let’s make it an electric Turf Moor atmosphere tonight.
Up the Clarets!
Alan
