Burnley U21s defender Murray Campbell has been called up by Scotland U19s for their upcoming UEFA EURO 2024 Elite Round qualifiers.
The 17-year-old earned his first two international caps at this level in February, impressing manager Billy Stark enough in those 180 minutes to be included again.
The young Scots have three games in a six-day period, starting with Italy on Wednesday 20th March.
They then face Georgia on Saturday 23rd March, before finishing off against Czech Republic on Tuesday 26th March.
Eight sides will compete in this year's finals in Northern Ireland, with the seven group winners joining the hosts.
Since joining Burnley from St Mirren in September Campbell has featured regularly for Andy Farrell’s U21s group, mainly as a right-sided centre back.
Speaking after returning to the Club from Scotland duty last month, he said: “I’ve enjoyed playing up with the U21s this season a lot.
“I wouldn’t say any particular parts of my game have improved - just the overall skill of being a defender.
“Faz (Andy Farrell) has helped me a lot with knowing where to be and when to be there, and we’ve also been working on my heading and range of passing.
“Hopefully I can keep playing for Burnley U21s and, if I’m doing well, be called up by Scotland again.
“I’d be delighted if that were to happen, so I’ll keep working hard for my chance.”
