Burnley Football Club have signed AFC Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The forward flourished under Head Coach Scott Parker in the 2021/22 season on the South coast when the Cherries were promoted and will now reunite with his former boss at Turf Moor.
After joining Burnley, 24-year-old said: “My main feeling is excitement, I’m really proud to be here. It’s a great opportunity for myself and I can’t wait to get started.
“The manager had a massive influence on me coming here, I had a great year under him, and we have some great memories from our time together.
“We got promoted from this league and he put a lot of trust in me, it was good to give it back and hopefully we can create a lot more memories now at Burnley.”
Hackney-born, Anthony joined Arsenal’s academy system as a child in 2006 and spent over 10 years there, before joining the Cherries in the summer of 2016.
The winger progressed through the youth team and into the U23s and got his first taste of senior football with a loan spell to National League South side Weymouth in January 2020.
After making his Bournemouth debut at the end of that calendar year, Anthony’s breakthrough campaign came in the 2021/22 season under Parker in the Championship.
Anthony made his first league start for the Cherries against West Brom on the opening day, where he grabbed an assist, before scoring his first goal for the club in a victory over Birmingham later that month.
That proved to be the catalyst for the wideman, as he went on to finish the season with eight goals and eight assists, as Bournemouth were promoted to the Premier League under Parker.
The forward played over 30 times in the top-flight across the 2022/23 campaign, before spending last season on loan with Leeds United, where he helped the Whites reach the play-off final.
