OWN A POPPY SHIRT TO SUPPORT THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

Football in the UK came together to wear poppy-bearing shirts in matches played in the lead-up to this year’s Remembrance weekend.

We are once again honoured to show support for the Armed Forces community, with all players bearing the poppy in the game against Brentford on Saturday 30th October and Chelsea on Saturday 6th November.

All match-worn shirts will be signed and are now available to purchase in a live auction with funds raised going to The Royal British Legion.

Every day, the Armed Forces community make sacrifices on our behalf, the red poppy is a symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.

All strips will be personally signed by the players after the game, once the live auction ends the shirts will be professionally disinfected – whilst maintaining the match-worn elements – before being posted out to the winning bidders.

Since the red poppy was first worn as an act of Remembrance 100 years ago, it has been supported by many communities across the UK becoming an enduring symbol of remembrance for our Armed Forces, past and present.

This year marks the centenary of the Royal British Legion. Throughout history, the British Armed Forces have defended freedom and democracy, and in the RBL’s 100th year we remember their service and sacrifice.

To celebrate this milestone, fans will have the opportunity to bid on an additional range of exclusive prizes that have been kindly made available by The Royal British Legion’s partners and ambassadors.
