Midfielder Josh Brownhill fired home an 86th minute winner, as the Clarets came from behind at Vicarage Road to beat Watford 2-1.
Brownhill on the winner:
“It doesn’t matter how they go in. I just saw Vyds [Matej Vydra] when I was at the edge of the box and shouted ‘Set’. Normally, he doesn’t set it!
“I just passed it into the bottom corner though and I’m just absolutely buzzing. For all of our hard work this season that we’ve put in, we fully deserve that.”
Brownhill on the celebration:
“I ran that far because my family and some of my friends, about eight or nine people, were here.
“For them to see me score, they’ve not seen me get many in the Premier League. It was so late on, and it meant a lot to me and to them too.
"The gesture with the hands was for Westy."
Brownhill on the game:
“I don’t think that we played at our best today at all, but we’ve had some really good games recently – and all season – in which we’ve got beaten, so we’ll take it.
“We talked at half time about quality. We wanted to challenge them in behind and I thought we did that in the second half. We’re on the right end of the result, and ultimately, that’s what matters.
“We fought right till the end, and that’s what we’ve been doing lately. I’m just so happy.”
Brownhill on beating the Hornets:
“It’s not good for everyone’s nerves [leaving it late] but this season so far, we’ve not done as well as we’d have liked against sides in and around the bottom of the Premier League.
“Because of that, today was massive and it was important that we came back from 1-0 down [once we’d gone behind]. We’ve shown that we’re a good outfit recently, and that we deserve to be in this division.
Brownhill on the recent form:
“Credit to the boys, the staff, and the fans. They’ve come and followed us today in great numbers again.
“We’ve just rallied around each other, and we want to be in this division. Over the years, we’ve shown that we are hard working and deserve to be in it. Today is another step in the right direction.”
