Josh Brownhill believes the experience in the Clarets’ ranks can help push them over the line to Premier League safety.
Brownhill is in his first full season as a top-flight player after joining Burnley from Bristol City midway through last season.
But the midfielder sees enough know-how around him in Sean Dyche’s squad to feel the Clarets have what’s needed to go on and secure a fifth successive season of Premier League football.
“A lot of the players have been in this situation before. We know what it takes,” said Brownhill, who has adapted impressively to his step-up from the Championship.

“We’ve got a lot of experience in the team of this division.
“We’ve had some good finishes over the last number of years, but I think throughout the seasons we’ve been in and around where we are now at some point.
“There’s a lot of experience in the team to get us away from that. Obviously, we’d like to have a few more wins and a few more points to be further away from the position we’re in.
“It’s never easy but I feel we have the experience to pull ourselves away from that.”
The Clarets go to Everton on Saturday evening sitting in 15th place in the Premier League table – ahead of Newcastle United’s Friday night kick-off at home to Aston Villa – with a four point gap above the bottom three.
That was the same margin for error Burnley had 22 games into last season before they kicked on to secure only a second top 10 finish of the Premier League era.

And when Dyche’s men lost 5-1 at home to Everton at the halfway point of the 2018/19 season they were in the bottom three.
The Clarets face the Toffees at Goodison Park in their last game before a three week break in a much more healthy position.
And while Everton are flying high in a top-six slot, Brownhill is looking for another scalp after winning across Stanley Park at Liverpool in January to build on a run of just one defeat in seven games but only one win in nine.
“We’d like to win more games than we have done,” Brownhill added.
“We want more but looking back at a few of the results, we have played some really tough teams, especially in that last week with Tottenham, Leicester and Arsenal.
“To come away with two points from them isn’t too bad. Against Fulham and West Brom we would have liked to have got the three points but sometimes it’s a case of if you can’t win, definitely don’t lose and pick up a point.
“We always want to win games and this weekend is no different.
“They are a really good team with a lot of quality. It will be difficult with the form they’re in, but we’ve given a good account of ourselves so far this season and won at some big teams and grounds and I don’t see why this can be any different.
“I’ve seen the quality we’ve got. We’ve had some really good and big wins this season away at some tough places.
“The lads are still full of confidence and hopefully this weekend we can go and get the three points.”

The Clarets drew 1-1 with Everton at Turf Moor in December after dominating the first half following Robbie Brady’s early goal.
And Brownhill – who is likely to continue in his preferred central midfield slot in the return meeting – admits the supporting cast to Burnley’s frontmen need to play their part as he goes hunting for his first Premier League goal.
“Throughout my career I have scored goals. I’m working on it and it’s something I want to be doing, chipping in with goals,” said the 25-year-old, whose only Burnley goal so far came in the League Cup earlier this season.
“The widemen and the other central midfield players will say the same. We want more goals. It’s not easy, but we’ve got to find a way to chip in.
“The next step for me is getting a Premier League goal and helping the team to win. But more importantly, it’s about getting the win – whether it’s me, Woody, Jay-Rod, Barnsey, or whether it’s Meesy or Popey!
“Whoever it is, as long as they go in and we win the game I’m not too bothered.
“But for me, the next step is getting that goal and showing everyone I can score.”
