Midfielder reflects on first Burnley goal

Although the Clarets fell to defeat at Villa Park on Sunday, midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu was pleased to get his first goal for the Club, in what he described a 'special feeling'.

The France U21 international was introduced as a substitute in the second-half and crashed home a header from Quilindschy Hartman's corner in the 78th minute to set-up a nervy finale for the hosts.

Despite Burnley's best efforts at grabbing an equaliser, Villa held on to ensure they secured a fourth straight win, but there were positives for Ugochukwu.

Speaking post-match in the Midlands, the 21-year-old said: "It was a really good feeling. I'm very happy to score my first goal for Burnley. The Gaffer said before the game that when we (substitutes) come into the game, we need to be ready to make an impact.

"I think that's what I did today, although we couldn't get another goal to get a point, it was a special feeling to get my first goal.

"It's always good to get off the mark for the season, the opportunity came and I took it. I'm just here to do everything for the Club and it's a nice moment for me."

A brace from Donyell Malen was enough for Unai Emery's men to secure the three points, but Ugochukwu insisted he and his teammates had the right mentality and showed what they are capable of in moments.

"Coming to Villa Park, I think we showed what we're capable of doing in some moments. I think we showed everyone that we can cause problems and be a threat, I know it ended in defeat, but there are positives to take and we will keep working hard.
