Sander Berge claims that being a Burnley FC player is a 'fantastic place to work' after the Norwegian finished his first season at Turf Moor as the Players' Player of the Year and Player of the Year.
The 26-year-old joined the Clarets last summer and featured more than anyone across the Premier League campaign, and despite suffering relegation, the centre-midfielder believes it's the 'perfect environment' to learn in.
Speaking to Burnleyfootballclub.com, Berge said: “I have really enjoyed it playing here, since the moment I arrived. It’s a fantastic place to learn and to work hard every single day under the coaching staff. “There’s great players, the staff behind the scenes and also the fans. Everyone has been there for me across the season to help become the best player I can be.
“I think over the season going on we have shown what we can do and what we are capable of to become a stronger team. We know it’s not been the season we wanted and the goals we had set, but it’s about responding now and bouncing back from it.
“I’m very humble and very thankful for everyone at the Club that have helped me settle in and it’s an amazing Club to play for."
With the 2023/24 season now at a close, over 15 Clarets are away on international duty with Berge being one of them as Norway prepare for friendlies against Kosovo and Denmark.
The two fixtures could see the midfielder face Arijanet Muric for Kosovo, before potentially coming up against Jacob Bruun Larsen with Denmark a few days later.
Discussing the June international break, Berge said: “It’s always great to meet up with them and have a bit of a catch up with the lads and talk about everyone’s seasons.
“We have two tough fixtures coming up against Kosovo and then Denmark and they are both big for us to show we can compete.
“It will be class to potentially come up against Aro (Muric) and Jacob (Bruun Larsen) and that’s what makes these sorts of games interesting coming up against your teammates.
“We will be looking to take two wins from both of those games. We know they will be challenging but I want the bragging rights when we are back in for pre-season!”
