Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm that experienced forward and four-time Championship promotion winner Ashley Barnes has signed a one-year contract extension at Turf Moor, with a coaching role to follow.
The deal will see Barnes play his final year for the Clarets in the 2026/27 campaign, before taking up a coaching role within the Club next summer.
Barnes, an influential figure on and off the pitch and around the Burnley Training Centre, has racked up over 300 appearances for Burnley over two spells.
The 36-year-old will now be part of Nicky Hayen's squad for the upcoming campaign in the Sky Bet Championship.
Following Barnes extending his stay, Head Coach Nicky Hayen said: "We're pleased that Ashley is staying at the Club for another season.
"He's an experienced professional with plenty of knowledge and success in this league and he plays a huge role off the pitch within the dressing room.
"Ashley knows what this Club means to the town, the supporters and himself, he's a great personality to keep around."
