Josh Brownhill insists full focus is on aiming to take all three points and keeping the unbeaten home record going on Friday night at Turf Moor, but is well aware of the challenge that the in-form visitors will pose.
The Clarets host Middlesbrough live on Sky Sports under the Turf lights and Brownhill says the team are hoping to reward the fans for their loyal support in what's set to be an entertaining encounter to kick off the weekend.
Speaking to Clarets+ ahead of the clash Brownhill said: "It's going to be a really tough game for us. We're all going to need to be at our best from the off.
"We're going to need every single person in the ground right until the very end. We'll be giving absolutely everything from minute one until the final whistle like we do every week and we want to reward the fans for the support they give us week in week out.
"It's going to be a difficult game, but we go into it in good form and all eyes are on taking the three points in front of our supporters and continue the unbeaten run at Turf."
Boro travel to Lancashire having won four of their last five games, scoring 18 goals in those fixtures, whilst Burnley go into it with four consecutive wins and five straight clean sheets.
Brownhill admits he is expecting a challenge from Michael Carrick's men: "They're a very good team, they're in-form, have some really dangerous forward players and they come here having scored a lot of goals recently.
"But there is no difference to any other game, we prepare the same and we have our game plan on how we can stop their players in front of goal.
"Our defensive unit has been fantastic this season, we haven't conceded many goals or chances really and we need that to continue on Friday, but we know it will be a test."
Brownhill fired home the second goal at Stoke last weekend in the 2-0 win against the Potters and the midfielder says although he is pleased with his six goals this season, the 28-year-old is aiming for double figures.
"I've got a few goals already this season and obviously any player always wants to score goals, but I want to reach double figures this year. It will be hard work, as it's never easy to score a goal but that's something I have got my eyes on.
"But overall the most important thing for me is just getting three points every weekend, whether I score or Traff (Trafford) scores, whatever happens along the way, as long as it gets us three points, then I'm happy."
The midfielder has worn the armband for the Clarets across the 2024/25 campaign and it's a role he cherishes and describes as a 'special' feeling.
"I've done it quite a few times in my career. I first did it at Bristol City and I've worn the armband quite a few times here now and it's always a proud honour for me.
"It's something I will always cherish and it's been a good season so far this year. It's always an honour for me to lead these lads out on matchday, it's special."
