It’s been a busy day in Padiham, where the much-anticipated Dude Perfect International Youth Cup got underway!
Hundreds of players, staff, families, and supporters were in attendance for day one of this elite youth football tournament for the U12 age group.
The 28 games produced 121 goals and just four clean sheets, with all teams intent on putting on a show for those watching in person and around the world online.
Burnley sit 3rd in Group A having taken four points from a possible nine, starting with a 3-3 draw with Chicago Fire.
The young Clarets then recorded a 2-1 victory over French outfit Toulouse before suffering a late defeat at the hands of Rangers. RCD Espanyol sit top of Group A with a maximum of six points from their outings.
Belgian outfit Genk finished day one top of Group B thanks to victories over Atalanta and Manchester United.
Both of those sides have four points in what is a tight group, with FC Dallas and Brentford claiming results too.
Group C is a little more spread out, although German giants Borussia Dortmund lead the way ahead of PSV Eindhoven on goal difference.
Grassroots side Pro Elite United have given a good account of themselves thus far, drawing with Nottingham Forest before beating PSV.
Last but not least is Group D, which is being led by Dinamo Zagreb. The Croats have a maximum points haul of nine, conceding just once in the process.
Then come Valencia and Tottenham Hotspur, while Sunderland will be keen to avoid the wooden spoon in the final round of group matches.
