Staff across the Clarets academy recently spent an evening alongside Kevin Taylor, the leading negotiation specialist from training consultancy Crimson Peak.
Taylor, a former Head of Hostage and Negotiation team for Greater Manchester Police & graduate of the FBI’s training programme, now passes on the skills he learned in his 30+ years of experience, to businesses and organisations.
Through the sessions he delivers, he aims to strengthen people’s ability to communicate with others, the understanding of what drives people, and knowledge of what helps to build relationships.
Ultimately developing leadership qualities, Taylor’s work enhances the participants’ awareness of how to motivate a team to get the most from them.

Burnley FC Academy Director Paul Jenkins, who, alongside Academy Head of Coaching Ian Jones arranged the session at Turf Moor, believes the event delivered on all fronts.
“The academy staff had the pleasure of welcoming Kevin to their staff Continued Professional Development event. He is a trained Hostage Negotiator and came to deliver a presentation on communicating and listening.
“The delivery of the presentation was fascinating and gave room for plenty of discussion and reflection on how we - as practitioners - operate.
“We look forward to potentially working with Kevin in the future.”
Guest speakers are brought into the Club a minimum of three times a year to spend time with the academy staff as part of their continued professional development.
