Six players from the Clarets academy are currently out on loan across the Football League & non-league pyramid. Another two rounded off their respective loan deals over the course of this weekend.
And with half of those in Isuzu FA Trophy action over the weekend just gone, here’s a round-up of how the loanees have fared in the last seven days. 
Bobby Thomas (Bristol Rovers) 
Defender Thomas had a double gameweek with Joey Barton’s Rovers, and played his part in two wins.
First coming off the bench for the second half on Tuesday night as the Gasheads beat Crystal Palace’s U21s in the group stages of the Papa John’s Trophy, the centre back then re-gained his place in the starting lineup for Saturday’s 2-1 home victory against Exeter City in Sky Bet League One.
Thomas – who joined the Clarets in 2017 – is on a season-long loan deal.
This Week’s Games: TUE – MK Dons (A) & SAT – Cheltenham Town (A) 
Finn Armstrong (FC United of Manchester)
Full back Armstrong – who has been at Burnley since U13 level - is on a youth loan with FC which is set to run until October 23.
Armstrong has been an ever-present at Broadhurst Park since arriving, and that remained the case this week.

Playing the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night as FC came from behind to beat South Shields, the youngster then bowed out of the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 loss at home to Liversedge.
This Week’s Games: TUE – Morpeth Town (H) & SAT - Marske United (A) 
Jacson Coppack (Ramsbottom United) 
Coppack rounded off his initial loan deal with Ramsbottom as an unused substitute in victories against both Prescot Cables and Bootle. 
The versatile midfielder, who has been a Claret since 2020, will now return to the Club.
Joe McGlynn (Oldham Athletic)
Striker McGlynn – who has been at Burnley from the age of 12 onwards – has also seen his loan deal expire this weekend with Oldham Athletic. 
He will now return to Turf Moor having not been involved in the Latics’ two games this week, 2-2 & 1-1 draws with Scunthorpe United and Maidenhead United respectively. 
Kade Ratchford (Bamber Bridge)
Versatile attacker Ratchford is another of those in the Clarets academy out on loan who was involved in the Isuzu FA Trophy over the course of this weekend.

He played the final 11 minutes as Bamber Bridge bowed out of the competition with a defeat at Macclesfield FC, and had already featured for 63 minutes in a 1-1 draw at Morpeth Town in midweek. 
Joining the Clarets aged 14, Manchester-born Ratchford’s loan deal is set to expire on October 16. 
This Week’s Games: SAT – Nantwich Town (H) 
Lewis Richardson (Grimsby Town) 
Scoring his first-ever senior goal away at Salford City last weekend, striker Richardson missed out on the Grimsby squad as they won 3-0 at home to Crawley Town on Saturday. 
Ex-Claret Anthony Glennon was on the scoresheet for the Mariners in that Sky Bet League Two success.
Richardson, who has been a Claret since the age of nine, is on a season-long loan deal.
This Week’s Games: SAT – Stockport County (A)
Sam Waller (Lancaster City) 
Loaned out on Thursday to the Dolly Blues, goalkeeper Waller was straight into the mix on Saturday up at Morpeth Town in Isuzu FA Trophy Qualifying action.

With Lancaster 3-2 victors and progressing into the next round, Waller – who has been at Burnley since he was 12 – is set to remain at the Giant Axe until November 6.
This Week’s Games: TUE – Warrington Rylands (H)
Will Hugill (Leek Town)
The second academy player loaned out in the last week was midfielder Hugill. A Burnley supporter, and with the Club since 2020, the teenager headed to Leek for a month on Friday morning. 
Just over 24 hours later, he played the full 90 minutes as they also progressed in the Isuzu FA Trophy courtesy of a 3-0 win on the road at Atherton Collieries.
As with Waller, Hugill’s loan deal is set to run until November 6.
