Burnley Women were an exciting side to watch in 2024/25, with goals aplenty in their 31 matches across all competitions.

The Clarets found the back of the net 119 times, averaging just under four strikes per games (3.8).

November’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round tie against Spennymoor Town produced the biggest winning margin of the campaign, with Burnley winning 12-0.

Aimee Kelly’s impressive five-goal haul was partnered by Laura Elford’s quartet, while Anna Grey netted a brace and Claudia Walker scored in the first half.

That wasn’t the only time the team managed double figures, though, with December’s second round victory over Bradford City finishing 11-0.

There were three 9-0 wins and two 7-0s, with the Clarets scoring three or more times in a single match on 16 occasions.

Elford finished as the top scorer with 26 goals in 30 appearances, followed by Kelly and Walker who both managed 12.

Summer addition Heidi Logan finished on 11, while midfielder and set piece taker Brenna McPartlan was the other player to record double figures with 10. 18 different players netted in total.

Impressively, the Clarets failed to score in a match just four times.

At the other end of the pitch the team conceded just 22 goals, which works out an average of 1.4 goals per game.

19 of those goals were conceded in the league, giving them the second-best defensive record in the Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League, behind only the winners Nottingham Forest.

That total of 19, combined with the 76 league goals scored, gave them a goal difference of 57.

The Clarets won 22 of their 31 matches in all competitions, giving them a win percentage of 71. 15 of their 22 league matches ended in victory, which works out at 68%.

Defensively we totalled 17 clean sheets, with 12 being kept by Kirstie Levell and the other five coming under the watch of summer signing Naoisha McAloon.

Levell played every league match and kept 11 shut outs in that competition, helping the team record the second-best number of goals conceded in 19.

McAloon’s five clean sheets came in seven appearances, and the Irish ‘keeper conceded just two times in her debut season.

Between January’s Lancashire FA Senior Cup trip to AFC Fylde and the league visit of Liverpool Feds mid-February, the Clarets kept five straight clean sheets.

Overall, 26 players featured in 2024/25 and 15 made their Burnley debuts.

Elford led the way appearance wise with 30, with fellow striker Walker recording 29 and the trio of McPartlan, Emma Siddall and Naomi Hartley making 28.
