Trippier Completes Spurs Switch
Trippier, 24, moves to the Premier League Club on a five-year-deal after four eventful years at Turf Moor.
The former Manchester City Youth Cup winning defender, a virtual ever-present, made a total of 185 appearances for the Clarets after joining from Eastlands, initially on loan, at the start of the 2011/12 campaign.
He was crowned Player of the Year following an outstanding first season at Turf Moor and in 2013 capped another solid year with a nomination for the PFA Championship team of the year.
The 2013/14 season was no different for Trippier as his impressive performances led him to be named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year for the second year running.
He contributed a remarkable 14 assists and was also part of a defence which kept 19 clean sheets throughout during the Clarets’ promotion to the Premier League.
And Trippier continued to impress in his maiden Barclays Premier League campaign, contributing 4 assists and helping to keep 10 clean sheets.
In May 2014, with a year remaining on his existing deal, Kieran committed his immediate future to Burnley Football Club by signing a new three-year contract.
However, a clause in that extension allowed clubs to talk to the former England U21 international, should his valuation be met.
Spurs triggered that clause and have now moved to make Trippier their second summer signing.
Burnley Football Club would like to thank Kieran for his significant contribution to the club and wish him every success in his future career.
