George Alexander's second half strike cancelled out Bobby Thomas' opener for the Clarets to earn the Londoners a share of the spoils.

Both sides took their time to get into the rhythm of things, as the sun beamed down in central London.

It took just over 20 minutes for the first real chance of the game and it fell to the Clarets.

Rob Harker rose highest from Josh Benson’s teasing corner and the towering striker saw his header hacked off the line and out for another corner.

However, just 10 minutes later Stone’s men had the opener, as Thomas directed a cushioned header into the bottom corner past a stranded Ryan Sandford.

The Clarets went into the break with the advantage, with Olatunde Bayode making way for Chris Conn-Clarke on the right wing for the second half.

And it was the visitors who started brightly in the second period, as Conn-Clarke saw his close-range strike excellently blocked by Lions defender Billy Mitchell.

But just moments later Millwall had their equaliser, as Alexander latched onto Jesse Debrah’s flick on before finishing past Adam Legzdins.

And minutes later the home side nearly doubled their lead, as Harvey Bradbury’s strike rattled the outside of the post, before being cleared.

Burnley were also threatening a second goal, however, and with 20 minutes to go Ollie Younger saw his header from a corner cleared off the line by Mitchell.

And despite Burnley’s best efforts at snatching a late winner, the Lions tamed the Clarets to ensure honours were even at the Den.

Stone’s men are next in action on August 19^th, at Turf Moor against Coventry City.
