The Clarets were held to a 3-3 draw in an action-packed clash at Turf Moor, after leading 3-1 at half-time, two late goals from Blackpool meant the points were shared.
Josh Brownhill opened the scoring with a tremendous effort from outside the area, before Nathan Tella fired home a second shortly after. Theo Corbeanu pulled one back, with Tella grabbing a second before the break. But two goals in two minutes late on in the second half from Shayne Lavery and Jerry Yates pulled the scores level.
Vincent Kompany made just the one change to his side that drew against Hull City on Tuesday night, as Samuel Bastien was replaced by Tella, making his first start for the Club.
First Half
The Clarets got off to an absolute dream start in sunny Burnley, as Jay Rodriguez teed the ball up nicely for Brownhill on the edge of the area, who fired home first time into the top corner past Daniel Grimshaw, to give the hosts an early lead.
And Burnley doubled their lead just nine minutes later, as Taylor Harwood-Bellis picked out Tella on the break and the Southampton loanee stayed calm and composed to finish low past Grimshaw and give Kompany’s men a two-goal lead with just 13 minutes played.

A minutes applause in the 16th minute followed, in memory of former Claret Lenny Johnrose, who sadly passed away on Monday, following a long battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
In an action-packed first half in east Lancashire, the Seasiders then pulled a goal back, as Corbeanu slotted past Muric, after latching onto misplaced ball outside the area.
But just moments later, Burnley added a third and it was Tella once again. The lively forward pounced on the ball outside the area and curled it home into the far corner, past the stranded Grimshaw in the visitors’ goal.
The Clarets’ headed into the break with a two-goal advantage, leading 3-1 after an impressive first 45 minutes.
Second Half
The away side started on the front foot in the second half, coming close early on through Josh Bowler’s free-kick from just outside the area, which fizzed wide for a corner.
On the hour mark, Kompany introduced striker Ashley Barnes, who replaced Rodriguez in attack for the Clarets.

With chances limited for both sides entering the final 20 minutes, new signing Darko Churlinov was brought on for his debut replacing Tella, with Samuel Bastien coming on for Vitinho.
However, it was the visitors who struck next, as Lavery fired home from close range to give Michael Appleton’s side a lifeline.
And just two minutes later, Yates fired in an equaliser for Blackpool, after striking low past Muric.
With the scores level and both teams chasing a late winner, both sides were reduced to 10 men. Carey, who had been on the pitch just 10 minutes hacked down Maatsen on the attack, before the left-back retaliated, with the pair shown a red card.
