Brady started his first game of the season after two substitute appearances before the last international break.

And the Ireland international enjoyed his part in an afternoon which ended in frustrating style for the Clarets when what would have been a late equaliser was controversially ruled out by VAR.

“I was over the moon to be back in the starting XI,” said Brady, whose start to the campaign was delayed by a fractured rib.

“It’s been a bit disappointing with the freak injury I got in pre-season, which wasn’t ideal.

“Just getting back to the level where I feel I’m at now has been good. I enjoyed being back out there and as a team I think we did well.”

The Clarets led through Chris Wood’s fourth goal in as many games as they looked to extend their four-game unbeaten run.

And then after falling behind with less than 20 minutes go, Sean Dyche’s men looked as though they had successfully hit back to claim a point and prevent the Foxes from climbing into the top four.

The Clarets – seemingly with some justification – were adamant that an own-goal from Jonny Evans should not have been ruled out following an accidental brush with Wood as the ball bounced towards the goal.

And while Brady shared the collective pain, the Clarets’ wingman was encouraged by another positive performance against a side that looks set to challenge for a place in Europe as they hung on to claim a 2-1 win.

“When decisions go upstairs like that and they’re made it’s awful to be on the bad side of it,” Brady added.

“These things are going to happen, and we’ll pull ourselves together and go again.

“To come away with no points is disappointing; but to be competing again.

“In the last few minutes we were putting on a lot of pressure, which is a good sign. The lads were excellent in piling the pressure on. It just wasn’t to be.

“I think Leicester will be right up there this season, the way they have started and the way they have been playing.

“We counter-acted what they were trying to do well and kept them shut out for most of the game.

“A couple of small details cost us in the end but coming and competing against every team we play against is good for us and will keep us with the right momentum going forward.”
