IT'S A DUNNE DEAL
Championship side QPR pay undisclosed fee for defender
Jimmy Dunne has signed for Championship side Queens Park Rangers after ending his time at Turf Moor.
Dunne reached the end of his existing contract with the Clarets this summer and moves to Loftus Road for an undisclosed fee.
Burnley were entitled to a fee for the 23-year-old after offering the central defender fresh terms.
And they secured a return on their investment in a player who spent five years at Turf Moor after leaving Manchester United.
Dunne made seven first-team appearances for the Clarets – including a goal-scoring debut in the Premier League last September –and was a regular member of Sean Dyche’s senior squad last season.
And the former Republic of Ireland U21 international gained further first-team experience during his time with Burnley in loan spells at AFC Barrow, Accrington Stanley, Hearts, Sunderland and Fleetwood Town.
Dunne has signed a three-year contract at Loftus Road – with the option of a further 12 months – and the Clarets wish him well in his future career.
