However, Forest equalised from a corner with seven minutes to go and the Clarets had the chance to regain the lead from the spot in stoppage time, but Forest keeper’ Siampanis denied Koiki’s penalty and the hosts’ chance to climb to the top of the table.

Glennon admitted, that although the team were disappointed to snatch the win at the end, Stone’s side are in a great position as they remain unbeaten in the Professional Development League.

The Bootle-born left-back said: “Although we didn’t quite snatch the win there at the end, there are still definitely a lot of positives to take from that this afternoon.

“To still be unbeaten seven games in is a massive achievement and a great positive for myself and all the group and it’s a great position to be in.

“We were a bit disappointed to concede such a sloppy goal, but you know it is something for us to improve on and we go again next week.”

Rob Harker was back in the frame this afternoon after missing the last match through injury, with Joe McGlynn away on international duty.

And Glennon believes that the healthy is competition within the squad is a good thing to have and brings the best out of the players within the group.

“There is competition there and it’s great to see and that’s what you need in a good squad.

“If lads are just playing week in week out no matter how they train, then you get the inconsistency and things like that.

“So, competition is always a plus and it pushes all the lads to do better and the best they can.” Said the former Liverpool defender.

U18 winger Ne-Jai tucker made his third consecutive start for Stone’s men this afternoon, with striker Lewis Richardson making his sixth appearance for the U23s.

Glennon stated that the younger contingent of the group have settled in just fine and have taken on the challenge very well.

He said: “The young lads have settled in really well, the older and more experienced lads around the group have helped them become a part of us.

“I think they have all took to it really well, Ne-Jai (Tucker) and Joe (McGlynn) are both fairly new still to the group.

“Where as Rico (Richardson) has been with us all season now, so I think it also helps as they learn off someone, they’re own age that has a little bit more experience than them.”
