DYCHE: WE WERE STRONG DEFENSIVELY
Boss praises side after thoroughly deserved point at Molineux
Both teams had opportunities to score throughout the contest, however the points were shared and overall, Dyche was pleased with his team’s display, especially from a defensive point of view.
Speaking in his post match interview, the manager said: “A very hard-earned point. Wolves are going very well, and they are a decent outfit. We were not as good collectively on the offensive side but defensively we were strong again which is important throughout a season.
“We have collected a clean sheet away from home and I thought Charlie Taylor tonight was absolutely outstanding, both ways. He tried to create opportunities for us and he was excellent defensively.
“Charlie is continuing to thrive this season, I believe in him anyway, but he is having a great season. Nathan Collins came in and he did very well again, he was solid. That unit tonight in particular was very important to us.
“We didn’t find out mark going forward as much as we would have liked. We had a couple of early chances, Woody (Chris Wood) swiped at one and Vydra, if he moved forwards into a moment, rather than waiting for the ball to bounce.
“They are important factors in every game, especially when matches are tight. We were not on the mark offensively but very strong defensively.
“We are trying to build and that is now one loss in eight Premier League matches. It is not easy in the Premier League, and we have a good mentality.”
