Dyche will take charge of the Clarets for the 313^th time – going past Stan Ternent into fourth place in the all-time list for games as Burnley boss.

Legendary League Championship winner Harry Potts leads the way with 728 games from his two spells in office, ahead of the pre-War duo of John Haworth (464) and Albert Pickles (336).

And in the pantheon of Burnley managers, they are now the only ones in front of Dyche, who was appointed in October, 2012 and can claim to be among the most successful in the club’s history thanks to his two promotion triumphs from the Championship and four successive campaigns in the Premier League.

“To surpass so many managers who have done so many good things for this club is something that gives me great pride and a sense of achievement,” said the 48-year-old, who two seasons ago became only the second manager after Potts to lead Burnley to European qualification.

“Although Burnley Football Club has a history of standing by managers at varying times, I still think it’s a notable achievement to be fourth in line and, also, to overtake someone in Stan Ternent, who is a great friend and who I consider did a great job here.

“It’s a milestone I am very proud of.”

Dyche, who joined the Clarets after starting his managerial career at Watford, is currently the fourth longest serving manager in English football, behind Morecambe’s Jim Bentley, Wycombe’s Gareth Ainsworth and ex-Burnley boss Eddie Howe – who was appointed by Bournemouth a fortnight before his successor took over at Turf Moor.
