Here we look back at Nathan Collins’ career in images, the Clarets’ first summer signing.
Collins began his career with Dublin side Cherry Orchard, before making the move to Stoke City in 2016, where the defender made his professional debut for the Potters aged 17, as a substitute against Swansea City. (Below)
10 days later the Irishman made his first start for City, against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium, a week before his 18th birthday. (Below)
In May 2018, the Dublin-born youngster was again involved in the Ireland academy set-up, captaining Ireland U18s at a summer tournament, before featuring for the U21s. (Below, end of back row)
Collins then signed a new long-term contract in the summer of 2019 at the Bet 365 Stadium, before being appointed captain ahead of the new season, becoming Stoke’s youngest captain. (Below)
The defender then went on to make 17 appearances for City in the 2019/20 season.
Collins then scored his first professional goal, in a 3-2 defeat to Norwich City, before scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough just two weeks later. (Below)
And the young centre-back has already had a taste of Premier League opposition, coming up against Wolves, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur last season in the Carabao Cup. (Below)
Collins leaves Stoke, after making 44 appearances for the Potters in all competitions over three seasons.
