The young striker joined the Clarets from Glenavon on a two-year scholarship deal in the summer of 2010.
The Northern Ireland under-19 international enjoyed a prolific first season at youth-team level at Turf Moor, earned him elevation to reserve-team and development squad games.
The teenager got his first taste of senior football when he was given a squad number and a place on the bench for a Carling Cup tie in September, 2011.
And another goal-laden season in 2011/12 saw the young striker hit the net 23 times at youth level before being handed a first-team debut as a substitute at Doncaster Rovers on Easter Monday.
A first call-up to the Northern Ireland squad followed for a European Championship qualifier against in Macedonia in May, 2012.
