Cork earns Another England Cap

Posted on: Mon 06 Sep 2010

Clarets midfielder Jack Cork earned a fifth England U21 cap in England's 1-0 win over Portugal on Friday evening.

The on-loan Chelsea star was an 84th minute substitute for Danny Wellbeck at the European U21 qualifying game in Barcelos.

The victory keeps alive England's hopes of qualification ahead of a must-win clash against Lithuania in Colchester on Tuesday evening.

Elsewhere, Martin Paterson was an unused substitute in Northern Ireland's 1-0 victory over Slovenia in their opening Euro 2012 qualifier in Maribor.

Andre Bikey was with the Cameroon squad in Mauritius for Saturday's preliminary round of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations in 2012 but didn't come off the bench as the Indomitable Lions won 3-1.
