Burnley U-18s 0, Blackpool U-18s 1

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

An early goal from Blackpool was enough for the Clarets youngsters to suffer their first defeat of the season in the North-West Youth Alliance.

The Seasiders struck on the break after just six minutes and that goal was enough to give the visitors their third straight league win.

Burnley had hit seven in their opening game but despite going on to dominate they couldn't force a single goal this time to peg Blackpool back.

Stephen Edwards and Steven Hewitt both hit the woodwork and Joe Jackson and Tom Taylor went close.

But despite a decent performance and plenty of pressure the Clarets, who were without David Lynch and Joe McKee, could not extend their unbeaten start to the campaign.
