Brian Laws is not planning a transfer market raid and hopes the deadline will pass quietly at Turf Moor at the end of the month.
The Burnley boss is happy with the strength and calibre of the squad he has built up over the summer.
And provided everyone comes through Saturday's trip to Swansea City unscathed - when the Clarets will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season - Laws intends to keep working with what he's got.
He confirmed: "We are not pretending we are going to do something.
"We will only be pro-active if necessary and that will be if something happens over the over the next couple of days or on Saturday.
"Let's hope I don't have to do anything because that means we are doing everything right."
Championship clubs do, of course, have the option of emergency loan signings between the two transfer windows after a week-long cooling off period once the August window shuts.

No market moves but Laws keeps his eye on the ball
And Laws admits he will explore that avenue if and when he sees the need to augment a squad that showed its depth in mid-week when the was able to make nine changes to his starting line-up for Clarets' Carling Cup win at Morecambe.
"The area we are working in the window doesn't shut, it just shuts down for a short period," Laws added.
"We will certainly be looking at it on a regular basis to see what our needs are. In football there is always something round the corner you've got to be prepared for.
"You still have to ready just in case."
