Morecambe v Burnley
Carling Cup 2nd round
Globe Arena 24/08/10 (kick-off 7.45pm)
OVERVIEW
The Clarets face a double first as they launch their Carling Cup bid with a Lancashire derby at Morecambe.
Burnley and Morecambe have never met in a competitive fixture, while the Shrimps' move to their £12 million, 6,400-capacity Globe Arena home in the summer also means a new ground to visit.
In contrast to the Clarets, the League Two side has not made a positive start to its league campaign with only one point to show from their opening three games.
However, their 0-0 draw with Rotherham was at home, while a 2-0 first-round Carling Cup win Coventry City at the Globe means they are yet to taste defeat in their new stadium.
Two goals from summer signing Andy Fleming saw off the Sky Blues in one of the shock results of round one.

Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy
Three years ago, Sammy McIlroy's side also knocked out Preston and Wolves in their first tilt at the League Cup following promotion from the Conference.
The Clarets, with several changes likely, will therefore not take the task lightly as they look to launch another cup run.
SHRIMPS' KEY MAN
Andy Fleming has made a massive impact since signing in the summer from Wrexham.
The midfielder, 22, has already bagged four goals, including the two that knocked Coventry out in round one.

TEAM NEWS
Burnley: David Edgar is back from suspension and could figure in a much changed team. Boss Brian Laws has no fresh injury concerns but will give some of those without much game-time a chance to impress, including keeper Lee Grant.
Morecambe: Defender Will Haining could return after missing Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Burton after his wife gave birth. The Shrimps have rejected an approach from Accrington Stanley to take veteran striker Paul Mullin back to the Crown Ground.

Steven Thompson could get a start tonight
STAT OF THE DAY
Morecambe, who joined the Football League in 2007, will become the 132nd opponents the Clarets have faced in a competitive match.
THEY SAY
Brian Laws: "We want to have another cup run so it's important we approach this game in the right manner, otherwise we'll have the same problems Coventry did and Wolves did in the season before that."
Mark Lillis (assistant manager): "It is a great draw for the club and will help continue the feelgood factor surrounding the new ground. Burnley are bound to bring a big following and it should be a cracking night again."
