Brian Laws has promised to make changes to his starting line-up when the unbeaten Clarets launch their Carling Cup campaign at Morecambe on Tuesday night.
Laws will dip into his squad strength for the trip to the League Two side and their new home at the Globe Arena.
But the Burnley boss is confident he will be able to pick a winning team from the pool of talent at his disposal and avoid join first-round victims Coventry City in falling to the giant-killing Shrimps.
"I am not weakening the side. We are putting out a strong side which I expect to go out there and win the game," said Laws.
"I could probably change 11 if I wanted and that wouldn't be me being disrespectful to Morecambe.
"That would just be emphasising that we have got a strong squad with competition in every position.
"Coventry's result is firmly in the back of my mind and I don't want this to be a banana skin game that stops our momentum, so it will be a really strong side."

Chris Eagles will be hoping for a start at Morecambe
A glance at the bench for last Saturday's win over Leicester City emphasised the options Laws has at his disposal as Jack Cork, Chris Eagles and Steve Thompson all came on and made an impact in an impressive 3-0 victory.
Kevin McDonald, Leon Cort, Jay Rodriguez and goalkeeper Lee Grant weren't used, while the likes of David Edgar, who is free from suspension, Richard Eckersley and Brian Easton will also be hoping for a slice of the action.
And Laws is urging whoever gets the nod at Morecambe to prove that the Clarets' squad is as strong as it looks on paper and to sieze the chance to impress and keep themselves in the frame for the league campaign.

David Edgar could be back after suspension
"The competition to get into the first eleven is tough, so those on the edge of it know they need to perform and I'm expecting a performance," added the Clarets' chief.
"Everyone wants to be part of a winning side. Those that are playing have done well, those who are not are desperately waiting for an opportunity.
"Games like this come along and they have to prove they are ready for this opportunity or they can't be knocking on my door.
"There will be a number of changes but I expect them to go out and perform like it's a top of the table clash in the Championship."
