Injured Duff Eyes Derby Date

Posted on: Tue 24 Aug 2010

Michael Duff should be back in contention for the Clarets' Lancashire derby with Preston next month.

Duff has been absent since limping out of Burnley's opening day win over Nottingham Forest.

But following a scan on his calf injury, boss Brian Laws expects the defender to be back in contention when Preston visit Turf Moor on 11th September.

Laws confirmed: "We have now found out he's got a slight tear in his calf but he should be back after the international break.

"We are expected him to be fully recovered by then."

Apart from Chris McCann's long-term absence, Laws has no other injury concerns following Saturday's 3-0 win over Leicester for the Clarets' Carling Cup clash at Morecambe tomorrow night.
