Youth-team boss Terry Pashley will urge his young charges to do everything they can to join the conveyor belt of talent flowing at Turf Moor when the Clarets' under-18s kick off their season tomorrow.
Burnley start their Football League Youth Alliance campaign against Accrington Stanley at Gawthorpe (kick-off 11am).
And Pashley will point to the former youth-team players making an impact at senior level at Turf Moor as a source of inspiration.
Michael King and Dominic Knowles were the latest to sign professional contracts during the summer.
And King is already putting himself around the fringes of the first-team set-up after shining in the reserves in mid-week, when former scholars Jay Rodriguez and Wes Fletcher were on the scoresheet.
"It's great for us to have people like that as an example," said Pashley.

Michael King has set a fine example
"We can say to the lads 'who's going to be the next one to make an impact?'
"There are a lot of names we can mention now, from Chris McCann down, who have all been where these lads are now."
With an odd number of teams in the youth league the Clarets were without a fixture last week.
Pashley admits that has left his players champing at the bit for a taste of action and with an older team available this season, the Clarets will be looking to improve on last season's top-six finish.
"It's been an excellent pre-season. They have applied themselves well and worked hard and they are fit and raring to go," Pashley added.

"When a club has got more second years it does tend to make for a better season.
"And while the end of it all is about getting players through we want to do well and get that winning mentality from winning football matches."
New arrivals Shay McCartan, Aaron Williams and Adam Evans are unable to figure against Stanley as they are still to receive international clearance.
And the Clarets have had to include under-16 goalkeeper Christian Thewliss following injuries to Ben Woodhead and Josh Cook.
Burnley under-18s: Thewliss, Woods, Williams, Lynch, Anderson, Colman, Wilson, Hewitt, Jackson, McKee, T Taylor. Subs: Cooke, Overson, Edwards, Mullin, Love.
