New summer signings Ross Wallace, Chris Iwelumo and Dean Marney all make their competitive debuts as the Clarets launch their Championship campaign against Nottingham Forest.
However, Lee Grant starts his Burnley career on the bench with Brian Jensen retaining his place in goal.
Andre Bikey and Michael Duff get the nod from boss Brian Laws to kick off the campaign in the centre of the Clarets' defence.
