Graham Alexander insists is will be business as usual after begin appointed as club captain for the 2010/11 season.
The evergreen midfielder is about to start his 23rd consecutive season in senior football, making least one senior appearance in every campaign since 1988-89.
And ahead of another campaign, leading out the Clarets in Saturday's Championship curtain raiser against Nottingham Forest, Alexander insisted the role will not dampen his focus.

The 38-year-old said: "I'm really pleased. It's a great privilege to be captain of the side, especially at a club like Burnley.
"I'm very proud to wear the armband, it's something that I enjoy doing and it's great to be the captain of a great bunch of lads, because if you don't have the respect of them it's worth nothing but hopefully I have and hopefully I'll show that back to them.
"I'll just take it in my stride if I can and just carry on being the person I am. Whether you've got a title after your name or a band on your arm, I just try and be the same person, win lose or draw, whatever day of the week and that's all you can do really.
"You can't be someone your not and I don't pretend to be, so we'll see how it goes from there."

Alexander is no stranger to the armband, which he wore for large chunks of his debut Premier League season as deputy to injured Steven Caldwell.
And the former Preston North End skipper admits it is a proud moment to be appointed as Laws' on-field marshall.
He said: "David Moyes (Preston boss) first gave me the captaincy in one game and it was something I wanted to do.
"I was 29 or 30, so I felt I was ready to do it. When I came here it was probably in the first month that Steve Cotterill made me captain, when the skip was out, and it's gone on from there.
"Last season Stevie (Caldwell) was injured quite a lot so the armband was passed to me, but I didn't take it as a foregone conclusion that I would be captain this season because I've been looked over in the past at Preston so I didn't take it for granted.
"So when the gaffer told me the other day I was very pleased, I was very proud to captain Burnley because there's a few characters in the changing room that could be captain.
"There's Michael Duff, Clarke and Beast who have all been here a long time and they deserve it as well, but there's only one captain and I'm pleased to get it."
