Martin Paterson shook off his pre-season niggles to play the first 45 minutes in Wednesday's behind closed doors friendly with Accrington Stanley.
The striker missed all three games on the Clarets pre-season tour to Singapore with an Achilles problem.
But he was back in action as the Clarets came from two goals down in the opening half to level through two second half strikes from midfielder Dean Marney - his first goals for the club since joining from Hull.
And Laws, who gave all fit and available players a run out at Gawthorpe, was happy with the response after a first half that saw Burnley struggle to shake off the jet lag from their 7,000 mile trip back from Asia,
Laws said: "In the first half we looked like we had just stepped off the plane, but in the end I was pleased with the way we settled and responded.
"We passed and moved the ball much better and started the show the standards of which I expect.
"In the end we created plenty of chances that could have earned us a handsome win.
"That transition was the pleasing thing, along with the two goals from Dean.
"That means that along with Chris Iwelumo and Ross Wallace, all the new boys have contributed to the tally in pre-season and I'm delighted about that."
