Clarets Agree Fee For Grant

Posted on: Sun 25 Jul 2010

Burnley Football Club has today agreed an undisclosed fee with Sheffield Wednesday for goalkeeper Lee Grant.

The 27-year-old, who spent a month on loan at Turf Moor five years ago, will now discuss personal terms with the Clarets early next week.

Grant, a former England U21 international, has previously worked under current Clarets boss Brian Laws at Hillsborough after joining the Owls from Derby County in July 2007.

The 6ft 4in stopper has played virtually every game since joining Wednesday, equating to a remarkable run of 136 consecutive matches.

Grant's one appearance for the Clarets came against Leicester City in the 2005/06 season, when he arrived as cover for Danny Coyne and Brian Jensen.
