In-form striker Steven Thompson hopes his purple patch in front of goal will roll on into the new season.
Thompson currently boasts the Midas touch with four goals in the final six games of the Burnley's Premier League campaign being followed by one in each of the Clarets' opening two pre-season friendlies.
The Scot netted at Bury last Saturday and last night sparked Burnley's comeback at Oldham with another assured finish to set up a 2-1 win.
And while Thompson emphasised that gaining full fitness is his primary target for pre-season, he is delighted to be straight back in the groove.
"It's nice to get on the scoresheet again," Thompson admitted.
"It's about getting games under your belt but I wouldn't try to hide it, it's nice to get amongst the goals and hopefully I can continue scoring them into the season.
"It's about being in the right place at the right time and taking your chances when they come."

Chris Iwelumo has added to the competition
Thompson's run of form has seen him stake an early claim for a starting berth when the Clarets get their Championship campaign gets under way next month.
And despite the summer signing of Chris Iwelumo, the 31-year-old is keen to play a more prominent role after being restricted to a solitary top-flight start last season.
"Every club I've been at there has always been competition for strikers," said Thompson.
"It's healthy and I'm pretty sure we'll both get our fair share of games throughout the season because everyone knows the Championship is a long slog.
"Last year Fletch had a very good season and took the main striking berth. It was frustrating but hopefully this time I will get a lot more opportunities and tweaking the system might help me."
Thompson's next run-out will come in Singapore when the Clarets launch their three-match tour at the weekend.
And he sees the trip as a key part of a preparations aimed at getting Burnley flying out the traps against Nottingham Forest on 7th August.

Jay Rodriguez will also have his eye on a striking slot
"We are all still a bit rusty. We have only been in for just over ten days so football-wise we've still got a bit to do but that generally comes towards the end of the pre-season schedule," Thompson added.
"At the moment it's about fitness and match fitness which we are getting now and which we will get in Singapore.
"You go from not having touched the ball for six weeks so no matter what your job is if you haven't done it for six weeks you're going to be rusty.
"It takes time and every day in training you can feel yourself getting a bit sharper and your touch getting a bit better but it is more about fitness at this stage.
"We have got a bit of work to do but everybody is really looking forward to the season starting. I think we've got a strong squad, a competitive squad and a squad that I think should be competing at the top end of the Championship.
"There is pressure on us to do that and that's what we're aiming for."
