Stockport U-18s 1, Burnley U-18s 4

Posted on: Sat 20 Mar 2010

Dominic Knowles celebrated his first professional contract at Turf Moor with a double blast as the Clarets hit three late goals to win at Stockport.

Knowles struck in the 86th and 93rd minutes as Burnley secured their tenth win of the campaign to close in on the top six of the Football League Youth Alliance.

Joe Jackson had put the Clarets in front after half an hour but it looked as though Terry Pashley's youngsters would have to settle for a point when County levelled with 22 minutes to go.

But Knowles then made it 2-1 in the 86th-minute and then after substitute Tom Taylor had increased the lead Knowles converted a penalty deep into injury time.

Burnley: MacDonald, Overson, McEneaney, Anderson, Lynch, J Taylor (T Taylor 75), Knowles, Jackson, Wilson, King (McKee 62). Subs: Woodhead, Woods.
