Dominic Knowles scored a hat-trick as the Clarets romped to their biggest win of the season against bottom club Morecambe.

Knowles opened the scoring after just four minutes and then completed his treble with two more early in the second half as Burnley stretched their unbeaten league run to eight games.

After Ross Wilson had also struck early on, Morecambe got back to 2-1 with 18 minutes gone.

But goals from Tom Taylor and Liam Newman gave Burnley a 4-1 half-time lead.

After Knowles had struck, substitute James Taylor, Joe McKee and Liam Newman then completed the rout.
