Laws: We've Got The Nation's Backing!
Brian Laws feels his team of underdogs have the backing of the nation in their bid to finally end their away-day misery.
The Clarets have headed for the sun for three days to dissect their latest disaster on the road at Fulham, where a 3-0 defeat made it seven straight losses and only one point from 39 away from Turf Moor.
And after paying tribute to the supporters who made themselves heard for 90 minutes at Craven Cottage, Laws insisted he and the players would be redoubling their efforts in the final six away games.
He said: "The one positive we have is the supporters who made the trip.
"It's a cold night, a long way form home and they have seen their team not play particularly well and get beat again, yet their support was unwavering.
"That sort of thing will get to the players, where they know they have unbelievable backing from everyone.
"I think we are getting to a point where the nation will feel sorry for us and want us to get a point!
"We will be trying ever so hard to put it right and we have a good opportunity now, going to Portugal, to look a little deeper and break down what is triggering these defeats.
"We will get this result somewhere. It may be Aston Villa, it may be Arsenal, but we will keep banging at it and trying to change things.
"We're not going to give up on our away performances or we might as well not turn up from the start."
