Goal Hero Nugent Hails 'Massive' Win
Goal hero David Nugent hailed Saturday's 2-1 win over West Ham as "massive" as the Clarets successfully launched their survival mission.
Burnley kicked off a potentially make-or-break run of five successive home games against bottom-half opposition with their first Premier League win for 13 games.
And Nugent, whose clinical early strike followed by a stunning Danny Fox free-kick set up a sixth home victory of the season, didn't hide the value of the result.
"It was massive," he said. "We know how important our home games are against other teams around us and there's no better way to start.
"It was a bit nervous towards the end but we held on to get the three points that we deserved.
"They threw on a lot of strikers in Stanislas, Mido and Ilan. They had four strikers up there with Parker going off the flick-ons and making it five but we coped with it well and we came off victorious."

Something to celebrate for Nugent and Fletcher
The win lifted the Clarets out of the drop-zone and up to 15th in the table ahead of a mid-week trip to Fulham where they will be looking to end their away-day drought.
"It's a boost and it gives us a lift going into Tuesday. Hopefully we can get a bit of confidence from this and go into that game looking to win it," Nugent added.
The striker's goal - his fourth of the season - gave his loan extension the perfect start and with Fox marking his debut with the winner it was a notable day of firsts for boss Brian Laws and his men.
"It was great to get the goal but the three points was more important," said Nugent.
"We needed that for the gaffer as well, his first win, so we are all made up."
