Northern Ireland goalkeeper Conor Mitchell initially signed a two-year youth team scholarship at Turf Moor in 2012 before becoming a professional in 2014 and exending his deal in December, 2015.

Mitchell was initially a regular for the Northern Ireland U-19’s and helped the Green and White Army win the Milk Cup, beating Mexico in a heated game in Coleraine.

He then graduated to become first choice for his country at under-21 level for the qualification programme for the 2019 European Championships and received a call-up to a full Northern Ireland training camp in June 2017.

Mitchell joined Bradford Park Avenue in January, 2016 on a one-month youth loan, competing for the shirt with former Claret Jon Stewart.

In July 2016, Conor made his first senior outing for the Clarets’ in  pre-season game at Bradford City and spent the first half of the 2017/18 season on loan with National League side Chester FC.

After returning to Turf Moor, Mitchell was a regular starter for the Clarets' under-23s in the second half of the season and won the U23 Professional Development League's save-of-the-season award.

In the summer of 2018 he signed a new one-year contract with the Clarets before moving out on loan to Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone.
