Tony Philliskirk was appointed head coach of the U18s in December 2018, leaving a coaching role that he had held at Oldham for the last 20 years.
Tony had a playing career that lasted 15 years and totalled over 400 games, scoring 113 goals.
He started his career with Sheffield United, scoring 20 times in 80 games for the Blades, before short spells in the North West with Oldham and Preston.
It was his next move, to Bolton, that would establish his goalscoring potential, with 51 goals in 141 games.
Two years with Peterborough preceded his arrival here at Turf Moor, where Philliskirk made 40 appearances in his one season, scoring nine times and helping the club win promotion from Division Two.
The U18s boss ended his career with Oldham, where despite being at National North level for refereeing, he took on a coaching role.
The Latics benefitted from his services for 20 years, where he had roles ranging from youth coach all the way up to caretaker manager.
Philliskirk started as a youth coach in 1998 until he was appointed assistant to Iain Dowie in 2002.
He has twice acted as caretaker manager at Oldham and was most recently academy manager at Boundary Park before joining the Clarets.
