The winger came to prominence as part of the Clarets' Youth team that beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the 2012/13 FA Youth Cup.
He also appeared in the following round at Manchester City and went on to earn a professional deal at Turf Moor.
The Manchester-born wide man previously played for Wilmslow Town.
Jackson made his first senior appearance in a Burnley shirt in a pre-season friendly at Rangers and then St. Mirren in July 2015, before being an unused sub against Port Vale and Birmingham.
The wideman, who signed a new deal in December 2015, was twice named as an unused substitute for the first team in the 2017/18 season, against Sunderland in the FA Cup and Accrington Stanley in the Capital One Cup.
Jackson ended the 2016/17 season with a loan spell at League of Wales side bangor City and in July, 2017 joined Southport on a season-long loan.
