A hat-trick from Chris Conn-Clarke and a goal from Mitch George secured Burnley all three points in a 4-1 win on a sunny afternoon in Birmingham.
Conn-Clarke gave Burnley the lead in the 18th minute, before grabbing his and the visitors' second just before the break.
Then just 10 minutes into the second half, the Northern Ireland U19 international had his hat-trick.
Birthday-boy Mitch George then hit the Clarets' fourth of the afternoon, before a late consolation goal from Birmingham in the 83rd minute.
Burnley were dominating the early stages and took the lead with 18 minutes on the clock, as Conn-Clarke headed home Rhys Fenlon's cross.
Then just before the break, Tony Philliskirk's side had a second, as Conn-Clarke's left-footed finish found the bottom corner.
And the Clarets were cruising, as Conn-Clarke secured his hat-trick just 10 minutes into the second half, after slotting home a neat pass from George.
The away side were not stopping there though, as George got in on the act on his 18th birthday and tapped in from close range, from Edon Pruti's towering header.
Just as it looked as if the Clarets were not only going to secure all three points, but a clean sheet to go with it as well.
City pulled one back with seven minutes to go, but Burnley made sure that was the only one that past them.
Assistant manager John Townson confessed his delight after the victory and not just praise for hat-trick hero Conn-Clarke but for the whole squad.
Townson said: "It was a very pleasing performance, from every single player out on the pitch.
"I was particularly pleased with the back line, how they showed the work we've done in training on 'nicking yards' and holding a good solid line.
"The players infront also worked very hard to press the ball and it was very good to watch.
"We're becoming a hard team to beat and have looked very solid recently, which has led to us getting a good run of results.
"A special mention to Chris though, he has been excellent in training and the last few weeks in games.
"Today he has carried that into the match and got a very good and deserved hat-trick."
