The Clarets’ Under-15s get the chance to edge nearer a national cup final when they face Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road on Tuesday night.
Burnley meet the Railwaymen in the northern area semi-final of the EFL’s Under-15 Floodlit Cup competition.
The Clarets – coached by Steve Carlin – reached this stage by topping their group with five wins from six games to finish ahead of Leeds United, Oldham Athletic and Bradford City.
“The tournament has allowed the U15s to gain invaluable competitive football and playing this game at a Football League ground gives the players yet another experience,” said Carlin.
Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton play in the other northern semi-final, with Bristol City meeting Plymouth Argyle and Stevenage taking on Cambridge United in the last four-ties in the southern section.
Burnley’s tie at Crewe kicks off at 6.30pm with free admission.
