Latest Title Test For Burnley FC Women

Clarets look to keep title charge going in Roses battle

28 March 2019

Burnley FC Women continue their title challenge when they take on fifth-placed Barnsley FC Ladies, at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena on Sunday.

Burnley ran out 1-0 winners when the sides met in September last year with the Clarets aiming to continue their dominance of the FA Women’s National League Division One North.

After a 0-0 draw against Brighouse Town last weekend Burnley are currently six-points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand over their title-chasing rivals, Chester le Street Town Ladies.

First Team Manager, Matt Bee said: “Last weekend was a solid performance certainly in terms of our structure, especially after a number of weeks without a game. The players are focused and know we have to perform this Sunday against a good Barnsley side.

“Nothing is achieved yet and we still have some very tough games ahead of us. We have to show a complete focus and desire as well as our quality.”

Kick-off is 2pm on Sunday and the game will take place at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena, 16 Well Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 8LE.

Entrance is £2 for adults, free for children.
