Clarets Back 'Home' At Curzon

Under-23s face defending hampions Bolton at the Tameside Stadium

17 September 2018

The Under-23s head to Curzon Ashton for the first time this season to take on Professional Development League champions Bolton Wanderers this afternoon (Monday).

The Clarets have so far played their home games either at Turf Moor or the Barnfield Training Centre.

But they return to the Tameside Stadium today (kick-off 2pm) looking to bounce back from successive league defeats.

A late goal against Millwall a week ago saw the Clarets’ winning home start come to an end as they slipped to second from bottom in the league’s northern section with six points from five games.

Bolton – who beat Nottingham Forest in the play-off final of last season’s competition – started the defence of their title by winning their first three games.

But David Lee’s side then saw their 100 per cent record ended by a 3-0 defeat at Millwall before drawing 0-0 with Ipswich Town a week ago to slip to fourth in the table.

Burnley – who knocked Barrow AFC out of the Lancashire Senior Cup last Thursday – will again be led by Academy Manager Jon Pepper as they continue the process of finding a successor to Michael Duff as under-23s' boss.
